Rapid Networks philosophy makes us
unique in four ways.
1. We're not IT Nazis
Many IT techs have systems and methods to which they
cling - even in the face of evidence that those systems are
not working for a particular customer. We are not like that.
We realize that it is our job to make the IT systems of your
company as easy to use as possible, so that you and your
employees can use them as efficiently as possible, so that
you can focus on the real business of your company.
2. We realize that our services
are overhead
Like most IT techs, we're enthusiastic about what we do,
and we love getting our hands on the latest hardware and
software. Unlike many IT companies, though, we realize that
while we could build networks and server farms for
the pure thrill of it, to our customers, their IT
infrastructure and our services are overhead. And we know what to do
with overhead costs - keep them low! At the same
time, we are experienced enough to know that sometimes, it
really pays off to spend a little more to get a better
server, or a name-brand PC, and we know when to advise you
of that.
3. We're willing to explain, and
we never deliberately try to obfuscate what we are doing or
why, with clouds of tech terminology.
I've seen many of my competitors refuse to explain what
they are doing or why, to their customers. I've really never
understood why this is, but I think it must be because they
feel like if their customers learn too much about their IT
systems, they won't be needed any more. We completely reject
that kind of thinking.
In our experience, customers who
understand what their IT consultants are doing, and why, are
much happier. We don't feel threatened by our customers
learning more about what we do, and our experience has shown
us that they are not trying to supplant us, but are happiest
pursuing their own chosen line of work.
Conversely, many of our customers don't want to know what
we're doing, or why - they just want us to "make it work,
and keep it working reliably" - without any explanations.
We're happy to do that as well.
4. Custom Solutions
We approach each and every customer as a unique
challenge. Just as every person is different, every business
is different - and has different needs. We take the time to
get to know those needs, and the longer we work with you,
the better we can address (and even anticipate) those needs.
In addition, small companies have unique needs, that are best served by
people with experience working with small companies.
Many IT consultants use solutions that come prepackaged
from giant companies like Microsoft, Cisco, and Dell. These
huge companies are vaguely aware that there are small
businesses out there that use their products, but they are
really only focused on their large, "enterprise" class
customers.
The job of a small business IT consultant is to be aware of
the enterprise solutions, and have enough ingenuity and
experience working with small businesses to turn those
solutions into something that will actually work for the
small companies, and to do so without breaking the bank. And
that is exactly what we do here.
